"Katniss, your eyebrows!" Venia shrieks right off, and even with the black cloud hanging over me, I have to stifle sharp points all over her head, and the gold tatoos that used to be confined above her brows have curled around under her eyes, all contributing to the impression that I've literally shocked her.
Ocatavia ccomes up and pats Venia's back soothingly, her curvey body looking plumper than usual next to Venia's thin, angular one. "There, there. You can fix those in no time. But what am I going to do with these nails?" She Grabs my hand and pins it flat between her two pea green ones. No, her skin isn't exactly pea green now. It's more of a light evergreen. The shift in shade is no doubt an attempt to stay abreast of the capricious fashion trends of the Capitol. "Really, Katniss, you could have left me something to work with!" she wails. "
This piece of one of my novels, "Catching Fire" shows more so the outer beauty concept of my theme. This is the one concept that has not been mentioned as much throughout the tapestry. At this point, Katniss has now been at home back in district 12 for while since she and her teamate/"lover" Peeta won the Hunger Games. She has gotten back into her old ways of not caring at all about things such as waxing her eyebrows or shaving her legs, she's back to what she knows and loves which is just hunting and her family. To her "prep team" who come form the Capitol which is a very elaborate city which rules the whole nation of panam, the state that katniss' body is in right now is shocking to them as Venia showed with her shriek of "Katniss, your eyebrows!" Mostly because everything in the capitol is about making a statement and everything they do or wear is for attention or attraction like Octavia's skin colour, "She grabs my hand and pins it flat between her two pea green ones." Although Katniss thinks of the prep team as just innocent people who don't really understand the differences of the ways in the Capitol and the other districts, these people are pretty much trying to change who Katniss is. Although she remains the same on girl on the inside, they are changing her to look a certain why to make a different impression. The Capitol have their own perspective on outer beauty, that it is the most important thing there is...
