"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart
-Helen Keller
This quote is about Inner beauty; it's telling us that the most beautiful things are not seen or touched. It's not about what your face looks like, or the colour of your skin. It's not about how expensive that outfit is that you're wearing. The most beautiful things are felt in the heart. The true beauty of things comes to you in the form of feeling in your heart. In the case of Helen Keller, she could not see or hear, but could feel someone's genuine kindness and love, being able to feel the warmth of that person. People can dress up and look beautiful and people can say things and seem genuine but this does not necessarily capture their inner beauty. You know someone has true beauty when you can feel who they are. Sometimes you get that good vibe, just by the way they are doing things, talking, communicating and interacting with people. It is not what they are saying or doing but how their words and actions make the other person feel.
Helen Keller lived from1880-1968. Her hearing and sight was taken by an illness at the age of 19 months. for several years after her illness, Helen had great difficulty communicating with people and therefore appeared to be difficult to live with. She seemed to have many behavior problems and many people attempted to work with her unsuccessfully. Eventually Helen was taught by a girl named Anne Sulliven. Anne taught Helen how to comunicate with people through means other than words. Helen had no vision and could not hear the words that people spoke, but she still managed to find the beauty in things in other ways...
