PRIM-
Prim is a very significant charcter in The Hunger Games because she is such an important person in the main character, Katniss' life. Whatever Katniss does she is constantly thinking of how it will affect her little sister Prim, and is always worrying about if Prim will be okay. She even promised Prim that she would try to win the Hunger Games so they could be reunited at the end.
This also affects many parts of the story such as how Katniss loves Rue, a competitor in the hunger games. Katniss trusts and looks out for Rue because she reminds her so much of her little sister back home.
CAPITOL
The root of all incidents is the Capitol. All of Katniss' problems or anyone else's problems revolve around this one city. The capitol is who all of panam work for, each district has a certain thing they make for the capitol for example, District 12 makes coal. They are all kept inside the fencing of their distict and if they tresspass out of it, death is almost always a guarantee.
The Capitol has control over all of the districts and reminds of this each year by taking 2 children (aged 12-18) from each one and putting them in an arena to fight till death. Without the Capitol, the Hunger Games would not even exist, people's destiny's would not be controlled, and people would be able to move freely from district to district.
Everything in the story revolves around the Capitol, making it a significant place in the book.
